I am a founder and director of Implied Violence Ensemble (IV), an experimental performance group established in 2003. Together with my collaborators, I created striking, immersive performances that combined theatre, installation, and visual art.
Based in Seattle, IV presented work in Portland, Los Angeles, New York City, and Austria, addition to completing a full U.S. tour with musicians "The Dead Science". Our ensemble earned significant recognition, including:
-The Stranger Genius Award for groundbreaking performance in Seattle
-Multiple local and national arts grants and stipends supporting experimental theatre
-A residency at Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center, a renowned space for international performance creation
Our performances were featured at respected venues and festivals, including:
-Frye Art Museum (Seattle)
-On the Boards (Seattle)
-Guggenheim Museum (New York City)
-New Island Festival (Governors Island, NYC)
-Donau Festival (Austria)
Through Implied Violence, I developed a unique theatrical voice, creating work that pushed the boundaries of live performance and built a foundation for my international career in experimental theatre—a practice I now continue to expand in Taiwan through new collaborations and community-focused projects.
